Ozone System Components - Ozone - O3 Oxygen - has been generated for years. Generating ozone is easy. Generating a controlled amount is difficult. Generating a controlled amount for an extended period of time is even more difficult.

Measuring ozone precisely is perhaps the most difficult of all. System design is primarily dependent on measuring ozone accurately. A sucessful application relies upon precise measurement of current ozone levels and control of the subsequent amounts generated.

Finally, assuming control of how much ozone is generated, the next task is to get it to react. In water, ozone reaction is dependent on dissolving the ozone in the water. If undisolved, ozone bubbles off without reacting at all and goes into the atmosphere, quickly degrading to simple O2 Oxygen.

Ozone Generators The variables which determine how much Ozone is produced are Gas(Air or Oxygen Flow), current and voltage. With most of our Ozonators, each of these variables can be adjusted
The Contact Tower or storage tank is an integral part of the ozonation system. A single pass contact system, as we depict here, is used commonly in water bottling plants, chemical waste treament facilities, and pilot plant studies. The ozone flows freely through the water by way of the Ozone Sparger or fine bubble diffuser located at the bottom of the contact tower. The ozone off-gas exhaust is located at the top of the tower and piped to an ozone destruct unit.
Ozone Eductor - Another common way to apply ozone to water is to use an eductor which is simply a Venturi. In small systems - less than 1 pound per day, this method is used almost exclusively.
Dissolved Ozone Monitor - Used in feedback control to have the Ozonator produce more or less Ozone depending on the demand.	Courtesy of ATI
Ambient Air Ozone Monitor - Required to insure that the OSHA Limits for Ambient Ozone concentrations are not exceeded.
Ozone Destruct Units - Necessary in many facilities to insure that Ozone cannot do harm to either the enviromnet or violate health and safety regualation.
Ultraviolet Ozone Destruction The key point is to know that the correct dosage for ozone destruction is 3 to 4 times the typical UV disinfection dosage.
